A Trail of Blood, also known as Chi no Wadachi within the Japanese Seinen population, is still going strong. As of this article’s publication, the manga series has 11 volumes and more than 100 chapters.
The manga series was originally published on February 24, 2017. However, it was licensed by Vertical Kodansha USA for North American release in February 2020. A digital copy of the manga will be released in August 2020.
Synopsis of The Trail of Blood
The story of Seiichi and his mother Seiko is the basis of the series’ plot. Although the storyline is simple at first, with Seiichi as a shy middle-school student with few friends and a crush upon a girl like other students, it quickly turns into something darker and more disturbing.
Seiichi is forced to endure the terror of her mother’s overprotectiveness and her child’s affection in a series events that sees her father’s protective love and affection for her son take a dangerous turn on a family hike. This series is a must-see for anyone who enjoys psychological dramas.

Main and Supporting Characters

1. Seiichi Osabe
We start with Seiichi Osabe, the main character of A Trail of Blood manga. Seiichi appears to be a kind and gentle individual with mild friendliness. However, he can also be vulnerable to emotional abuse or manipulation.Source: Tumgir
Seiichi is easily influenced by her mother’s dangerously protective nature. He even develops a speech impairment with stammer and stutter. Fukiishi helps him to overcome this problem, but he often has to face his mother again.
2. Seiko Osabe

This helps her support Seiichi during his difficult times, when Seiichi develops his speech impairment issue. Yuko is also the one to question Seiihci’s mother’s manipulations and behaviour.
4. Shigeru

Shigeru’s personality is completely destroyed by the unfortunate events at the cliff. With the help of his mother, Shigeru eventually regains consciousness. He even confides to Seiichi that he misses his old self.
Illustrator and Writer
